What I enjoyed most about the Masterclass was the experienced facilitator Emma who is a true expert in the subject matter, the visual designs of the slide decks and course content, the interactive opportunities during our sessions, the examples given and shared to illustrate complex concepts.

The world is made up of beautiful, interconnected and complex systems. Learning to identify and design within the social, industrial and ecological systems at play in the world around us is a critical toolset for activating purpose-driven change.

The Disruptive Design Method is the UnSchool approach of mining, landscaping and building creative interventions for positive change outcomes. This program focuses on activating systems change by utilizing the DDM in order to bring about the circular economy. There is a strong focus on redesigning for circular outcomes throughout the small group sessions held twice weekly, with both facilitator and peer feedback to support advancing and upskilling in these areas.

This immersive program is designed for professionals from a variety of different backgrounds interested in activating positive impact, fostering a systems-based mindset, designing change outcomes and developing the leadership skills needed to challenge the status quo.

This course has definitely got me thinking and seeing things in a new way and proven super helpful. It has made me realize that there are concrete, actionable ways to impact the world and be an agent of change and exert the power that we have within our sphere of influence. It’s just a starting point and I’m hungry for more!

Being part of the DDM Masterclass was a systemic experience in itself. I THOUGHT I knew all the parts of the DDM framework, but as separate bits. They came together beautifully and make so much more sense as an integrated whole! I look forward to teaching my students the tools and the associated mindset. Learning to love the problem and to accept messiness and uncertainty is likely to make a lot of difference in their lives.
— Gabrielle Fauste, Masterclass Participant

Please help us build change by only applying for a scholarship if you have clear need and have no other way of raising the tuition costs.

We encourage all applicants to start by looking for co-funding opportunities within their community. Partnership with a library, your workplace, or corporate sponsors can be powerful ways of building your local network and sharing knowledge. Many participants have exchanged tuition for teaching time with organizations with mutually beneficial outcomes.

Since 2015, we have given hundreds of recipients over $500K of scholarships to our programs.

This Masterclass has definitely stretched my brain. My brain does hurt but it was absolutely worth it, my work will be less stressful now that I can sift through my messy brain. Thank you for saying it’s okay to procrastinate and that it helps, thank you for reminding me that we need to be more compassionate because we need more people to adhere to sustainability in order to make the world better, we just can’t do it alone.
